The Donkey Sanctuary

Since its foundation almost 50 years ago, The Donkey Sanctuary has grown from a charity rescuing UK donkeys from neglect and abuse to an international animal welfare organisation transforming the lives of millions of donkeys and mules, and the people who depend on them for their livelihood.

We have lots of exciting events and volunteering opportunities that we would love local businesses to get involved in.

From challenging runs and skydives to baking and craft days – we would love to work with you to find the perfect event or activity for your workplace!

We regularly have opportunities for businesses to get involved in on-site volunteering to help – anything from building butterfly gardens and bug homes, clearing bracken and hedge laying through to more sedate Christmas wreaths being made to help decorate or Donkey Assisted Therapy centres in Ivybridge and Sidmouth.

All of these are great opportunities for employees to spend some quality time outside of an office environment whilst providing essential support to a great charity!

Corporate partnership

The Donkey Sanctuary is one of the most successful international animal charities in the UK, renowned for our work improving conditions for donkeys and mules worldwide

Becoming one of our corporate partners sends out a very public message of your commitment to helping not only donkeys and mules in distress across the globe but some of the world’s poorest communities who depend on these animals for their very survival whilst potentially reaching an audience of over 240,000 supporters.

At the same time, you will be positioning your business as a socially aware organisation that takes responsibility for the world we live in and that works to make a real difference.

Children’s Hospice South West

Children’s Hospice South West supports children with life-limiting conditions, and their families.

At CHSW we are committed to making the most of short and precious lives. The care offered at each of our three hospices is not simply about medical and nursing care for sick children, but about enriching the lives of children and their families.  Families talk about the ‘treasure chest’ of precious memories they build, to carry into the future… a future which will, sadly, be without their much loved child or children.

At our three beautiful children’s hospices, Little Bridge House in North Devon, Little Harbour in Cornwall and Charlton Farm in north Somerset, we support parents, brothers and sisters and the poorly child, from diagnosis towards bereavement and beyond.

We can relieve the burden of caring for a sick child from families and allow them to spend precious time together focusing on just being a family. The whole family can stay at our hospices, and with a dedicated sibling support service available, this means that the well brothers and sisters can be cared for during their visit and enjoy spending time with other children in similar situations to their own.

To face the reality of losing your child means those who desperately need our help face an uncertain and fragile future. We walk alongside them providing respite care, palliative and ultimately, end of life care for their child. Our work continues after bereavement for the whole family.
