Business @ Breakfast

Business@Breakfast is a vibrant networking group with 3 branches support business in and around Devon. Business @ Breakfast are a non-profit making, networking and referral group where local business people work together to help each other’s businesses grow and succeed.

Members come together for breakfast on a fortnightly basis (Exeter – Wednesday, East Devon – Tuesday and Mid Devon – Thursday : on alternate weeks) to promote their businesses, share experiences and support each other.

The emphasis of the group is on getting to know and understand each other’s business and passing business referrals to each other.

Membership is open to every type of business, although to avoid internal competition and to maximise the benefit to members, only one member of each type of business or profession is allowed within the group.

New visitors are always welcome to come along and see the group for themselves without any obligation to join.

 

Business Forum Mid Devon

The Business Forum Mid Devon is the established voice for business. We exist to help your business be the best it can be – not just to survive, but to thrive!

With the full backing of Mid Devon District Council, the Forum has a direct line of communication to influence local policy makers.

The FORUM exists to:

  • Encourage local businesses to expand and new businesses to open in Mid Devon, thereby creating additional employment opportunities.
  • Enable local businesses to get to know one another and help one another by working and trading together
  • Work with Mid Devon District Council to ensure that they play their part in listening to business needs and helping to create the right environment for local businesses to succeed

The Council is fully behind the Forum, and both the elected Leader and the Chief Executive of the Council are on the Forum’s executive committee.

Exmouth Chamber of Commerce

The Exmouth Chamber of Commerce has been active in Exmouth since 1896. Today we are the leading representative of trade and commerce in the town.

As the voice of Exmouth business we’re consulted by Government, Local Government and other Community organisations over important decisions affecting the development of Exmouth.

Our mission is to make Exmouth a thriving business-friendly town. We do this through initiatives such as the prestigious Exmouth Chamber Business Awards, weekly Breakfast Club gatherings and regular networking and social events.

Members are kept informed about business news, events, activities and opportunities through a monthly newsletter and social media. We also have a monthly column in the Exmouth Journal to spread the word about Exmouth business.

The Chamber Executive Committee meets monthly. Town development is watched closely and we make the voice of Exmouth businesses heard when needed.

The Chamber liaises closely with the Exmouth Town Council, East Devon District Council and Devon County Council. It is represented on the Area of East Devon Chambers of Commerce, the Water Users Group, the Exmouth Regeneration Board, the Exmouth Town Team and Tourism Forum.

Additionally Exmouth Chamber regularly organises social events, giving business people the opportunity to network, socialise and experience some of the best Exmouth has to offer in hospitality.  In recent years this has included River Cruises, BarBQs,  Pizza evenings and much more….

The Exmouth Chamber of commerce are the organisers of the annual Business Awards Ceremony and is a highlight of the Exmouth business and social calendar. There are categories in all the significant business sectors in the town.  There is also a special award to recognise an individual or Business who has contributed to the Business community in Exmouth in an outstanding way.

Mid Devon Network

Mid Devon Network is an independent group of businesses that meet together to share effective leads and business referrals. Membership simply requires regular attendance and a commitment to see your and other businesses grow.

Business networking group that meets fortnightly, alternating between the  Hartnoll Hotel, Bolham near Tiverton and Il Casita restaurant in Crediton.

Start time 07.15, for 07.30, £10 per head includes full-English Breakfast. Membership costs £20 as a one off joining fee – no annual subscription.

No hard sell networking with a good mix of businesses from Crediton and Tiverton areas.

At the breakfast meetings each member has up to 1 minute to advise the other attendees of what they do and how they might help them;

At each meeting one member (by pre-arrangement) has the chance to present for 10 minutes on their business or on an area of interest (we call it “The 10 Minute Takeover”).

You are entitled to place your business details on the Mid Devon network website.

Minimum attendance commitment: 1 meeting in 3 months. Some members choose to attend either Crediton or Bolham rather than both.

Every 6 months we organize a Big Business Breakfast that is open to the wider business community and includes a guest speaker.
