Q: My HR person says she has a statutory right to time off to go to the doctor. Is that true?

A: Well assuming she is not pregnant and going to ante-natal classes she’s wrong – and she’s also not very good at HR.

Tell her nice try and that whilst you will be reasonable about time off she has to either make up the time or take it unpaid.
